WP6 - Role of PTX3 and other components of innate immunity in influenza virus infection

Partners involved:
N° 7, Prof. Alberto Mantovani (WP Leader)
N° 1, Prof. Otto Haller
N° 2, Dr. Stefania Crotta
N° 8, Prof. Bing Sun

Uncontrolled inflammatory reactions play a key role in the immunopathology of influenza. Partner 7 will provide gene targeted mice to investigate the function of chemokines and members of the toll-like/IL-1 receptor family in the immunopathology of influenza infection. In particular, these will include the D6 decoy receptor for inflammatory CC chemokines and the TIR8 receptor.
